The statement, which harshly criticizes remakes of classic anime, has sparked widespread debate and discussion among Internet users. The opinion expressed is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Can&#039;t we stop making remakes of old anime? Before they premiere they generate talk, but once they start they are not talked about. <\/strong>Middle-aged people have a large presence on social media, but do not contribute financially. <strong>It is a mistake to think that these &#039;gentlemen&#039; and &#039;ladies&#039; have money, as many of them belong to the recession generation and have no resources. <\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Instead of pandering to them, we should be creating new content for young people. These remakes tried to capture both new generations and old-school fans, but according to some users, they failed to maintain interest in the long run.<\/p>\n<p>And of course, the community didn&#039;t take long to debate about it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00ab<em>Unlike gamers, anime otakus don&#039;t usually ask for remakes. I loved it as a kid, but now I can&#039;t stand it anymore.<\/em>\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab<em>I&#039;m not asking for a new Nausica\u00e4, but how about a Laputa directed by Makoto Shinkai?<\/em>\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab<em>Otakus aren&#039;t asking for this. The industry is desperate for ideas and is committing suicide with these remakes.<\/em>\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab<em>I&#039;ve never heard anyone ask for a remake of Rayearth<\/em>\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab<em>Those who want remakes imagine new versions with much higher quality than the original. But the reality is that remakes usually have low budgets and mediocre crews. They should learn now.<\/em>\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab<em>The Urusei Yatsura remake is visually appealing, but everything else is very outdated. I haven&#039;t seen much of Ranma, so maybe I&#039;ll like it<\/em>\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab<em>Instead of making new anime, they should re-air the classics. I watched an old episode of Sazae-san the other day and it was really funny. But then the animators would be out of a job.<\/em>\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>\u00ab<em>It&#039;s been a long time since I&#039;ve seen such stupid bait...
