Blue Blockade Synopsis
The story begins with the elimination of the Japanese National Team from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which leads the Japan Football Union to start a training program to prepare a team of high school students who will participate in the 2022 World Cup. Isagi Yoichi, a striker, receives an invitation to join this program shortly after his team lost the chance to participate in the Nationals, for passing the ball to his less skilled teammate, who obviously missed the shot, which showed Isagi's cowardice in not daring to finish the play alone.
Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who aims to dispel the notion of "Japan being weak at football" by implementing a radical new training regime: isolating 300 young forwards in a prison-like institution called "Blue Lock," and subjecting them to rigorous training that will create "the greatest, most talented, and most selfish striker in the world."
