America's New Order

Star and Stripe's quirkiness is one of the main reasons for his position in the pro-hero scene, and is called New order. This allows her to directly affect the environment around her under certain conditions. She can apply a rule to anything she touches, as long as she knows its name. This gives her near-omnipotent power, bending space and time to her will.

Star needs to be in direct contact with the object, and then she gives a verbal command. If she knows the object's name, she can infinitely alter its properties. This allows her to empower herself and others, as well as do strange things like transforming laser beams into swords or air into a vacuum.

4 Its limitations

The power of Star and Stripe has its limits

Star's Quirk may seem extremely overpowered, because it is. It bends matter and alters reality as we know it, transcending the power of other Quirks seen so far in the anime. Some might say this power could even topple the likes of All Might. But there are certain conditions that must be met for it to work. Some scenarios may cause the Quirk to malfunction.

The first limitation is that she must be in direct contact with the object or person she wishes to affect. Second, she must speak verbally to impose a rule on it. Another limitation is that she must know the name of the object or person she is touching before applying a rule. This condition may prevent her powers from working on individuals with a fluid sense of identity or, for example, knowing an identity with which an individual maintains no conscious or subconscious association. She also has limits on how much she can strengthen and enhance herself and others. Furthermore, she can only apply two requests at a time. If she wants to add a new one, she will have to cancel one of the pre-existing ones.

When she was young, Cathaleen was saved from a rogue villain attack by a younger All Might. He was in the United States to train, out of the Japanese public eye. Afterward, she gained immense admiration for the hero and everything he represents, emulating his approach to becoming a pro-hero for him.

Star resembles a female version of All Might, even dyeing her own hair blonde and adding eight tufts to her design to resemble him. This similar design represents a desire to achieve greater peace, following in her mentor's footsteps. Even structurally, Star shares physical characteristics with All Might. She is extremely tall and has a broad, muscular physique. This emulation extends to a similar blue, patriotic design to her costume, as well as her vision of heroism. Star believes in All Might's perspective and principles, considering his charisma a shining and comforting protector.

The battle between these beacons of good and evil began, with Star taking command. During the fight, Star displayed some of her strongest uses of power, reducing Shigaraki's power and summoning a giant imitation of herself made of air. She commandeered fighter jets and manipulated them to maximize the full extent of her Quirk, showcasing her strategic prowess.

After pressuring Shigaraki, cornering him, and nearly defeating him, he seizes her and decomposes her body while attempting to steal her Quirk. To give the world a fighting chance against the monstrous villain, Star corrupts his Quirk before he can steal it, damaging and destroying his other Quirks. Ultimately, this renders him unable to use it, and the Quirk is lost forever. Cathaleen Bate was a short-lived heroine in the anime, proving how powerful and revolutionary she would have been had she been left to aid the hero's cause.
