That said, Todo actually played another pivotal role in this arc long ago, one that fans weren't aware of at the time. It's now been confirmed that Todo, thanks to his incredible cursed technique, was able to aid in the death of Kenjaku, the series' other antagonist and the man responsible for the Culling Game in the first place.
The Return of Aoi Todo
Aoi Todo arrived just in time to save the wizards
In Chapter 259 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna unleashed the power of his Divine Flame to eradicate nearly everything within his domain. Essentially, every living being within Sukuna's domain should have died. Sukuna believed he had enough firepower to eliminate them all. However, things didn't go as planned for him. First, fans saw Choso sacrifice his body to protect his brother, Yuji Itadori. He used his powers to create a blood barrier around his brother and then did his best to keep that power out. This resulted in Choso being charred to death, while Yuji survived. Meanwhile, everyone else within the domain was somehow transported outside. Although Yuji believed they were vaporized, it soon became clear from a mysterious figure that appeared before him that they were safe.
The sound of the gion shoja bells echoes the impermanence of all things. The color of the sala flowers reveals the truth that the prosperous must decline. However! We are the exception!
This mysterious figure turned out to be none other than Aoi Todo. Todo returned just in time and used Boogie Woogie's powers to swap all the sorcerers out of the domain. At the end of the chapter, Todo began to reveal his new prosthetic arm and, at the same time, joined the battle against Sukuna with Yuji. From now on, it will be an incredibly exciting battle between the two, and JJK Chapter 260 will surely delve deep into it. With Todo joining the final battle, fans will see a thrilling combat sequence in the next chapter, but at the same time, they will also be able to gain more context about how Todo joined the battle in the first place and what he was doing before the Shinjuku Showdown began.
How Todo Helped Yuta Kill Kenjaku
Everyone was working with Yuta to improve his technique
In JJK Chapter 260, it became incredibly clear that Todo had always planned to enter the Culling Game eventually. The first thing that confirms this is the fact that Todo was present at the Gosho Lake Colony, which was clearly mentioned by the narrator in JJK Chapter 260. Essentially, Todo was with Yuta, and somehow, Yuta helped him overcome his cursed technique. It's unclear exactly what the author meant by this, or how Yuta helped Todo with his Boogie Woogie. However, the implication is that Todo tested his technique with Yuta during the mission to eradicate Kenjaku.
With this, fans know for sure that he was at the Gosho Lake Colony and, therefore, clearly in the Culling Game. This already confirms that Todo was planning to help the Sorcerers in any way he could later, and the only reason he didn't is because he didn't want Yuji to know of his presence. Yuji's knowledge could have provided this information to Sukuna, which, as Todo explained in the previous chapter, could have been the case, since they shared a single body. To keep his presence a surprise, Todo operated in the shadows without Yuji truly knowing about him.

Gojo is back in JJK. The second round of Gojo vs. Sukuna could begin soon.
Most importantly, Todo actively played a key role in the battle against Kenjaku. After Kenjaku finished fighting Takaba, fans know that Yuta appeared behind him and immediately cut off his head. Kenjaku himself was confused as to how this was possible. Given that Yuta possesses a massive amount of cursed energy, he should have noticed him. Kenjaku hypothesized that this was because Takaba's resonance drew his full attention. While this is true to some extent, there's more to it than that. Looking closely at the SFX surrounding Yuta in the panel where he cuts off his head, it's clear that it's the same one the author uses for Todo's Boogie Woogie.
Given that Todo was able to refine his technique at the Gosho Lake colony with Utah's help, as confirmed in JJK Chapter 260, this now explains how Yuta was able to sneak up on Kenjaku, appear behind him as he turned around, and cut off his head. Essentially, Todo's range increased dramatically. He simply used Boogie Woogie from afar, positioning Yuta in a position where he could easily sever Kenjaku's head.
It's also possible that Todo used Boogie Woogie's power to help transport Yuta to the main battlefield in Shinjuku after Kenjaku's death. This is also a significant possibility and could explain how he was able to cover such a great distance in such a short amount of time.
The role of Todo versus Sukuna
Everyone has now joined the fight against Sukuna
Now that Todo clearly helped in the battle against Kenjaku, fans can now praise him for his significant contribution. Even though he doesn't possess the strongest cursed technique, his use of it is absolutely immense, making him a significant asset to the sorcerer's side. At the same time, fans should also keep in mind that Todo will also be a significant asset in the battle against Sukuna. Even though he doesn't possess a destructive cursed technique that could simply crush the King of Curses in more obvious ways, switching with Yuji and allowing him to land perfect strikes on the King will certainly make a huge difference here.
Since Ryomen Sukuna's mastery has just ended, it's difficult for him to use cursed techniques now!
Fans can be sure that Todo will be instrumental in the story from now on and that the best of him is yet to come. JJK keeps getting better with each chapter and fans can only hope that all the remaining characters who are now fighting Sukuna come to a proper conclusion, including the king himself.
Judging by the way things are going, this battle against the King of Curses won't last long. It's only a matter of time before this fight ends, and from there, Gege will mark the beginning of the end, as he plans to wrap up the series later this year.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read from Viz Media. The series can be read officially and for free by fans in Shonen Jump and Manga Plus application. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261, is set for May 26, 2024.
