Popular Japanese cosplayer Glico (ぐりこ) caused a stir on social media after sharing a series of videos where she shows off her impressive cosplay of Asuka Langley, an iconic character from the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” franchise. However, what caught the attention of millions of users was not just the fidelity of the cosplay, but a curious and unexpected detail: The suit's rubber-like material accumulated a lot of sweat due to the summer heat and lack of breathability.

Glico attended an event in Tokyo wearing Asuka's signature tight-fitting red suit, made of a material that doesn't absorb sweat. As a result, after several hours in the sun, sweat began to accumulate inside the suit until it turned into a considerable amount of liquid.which was evidenced when the cosplayer took off her rubber boots and showed how sweat was dripping onto the floor.

In one of the videos, Glico explained what happened:

  • «The rubber material doesn't absorb sweat, so this happens, but in the middle of summer, cosplayers tend to sweat a lot, and their costumes absorb it. Don't forget to take breaks and stay hydrated during your summer photoshoots!».

On this occasion, Glico took the opportunity to educate other cosplayers about the importance of taking frequent breaks and staying hydrated during photo shoots on extremely hot days.valuable advice considering the effects of weather on the health and well-being of cosplayers.

The unusual accumulation of sweat on Glico's suit didn't just generate surprised reactionsbut also some humorous and thoughtful comments about the difficulties of cosplaying in the summer:

  • «This is typical of wetsuits.».
