They call for anime remakes to be stopped

On an anonymous forum in Japan, Controversial opinion became a trend on social mediaThe statement, which harshly criticizes remakes of classic anime, sparked widespread debate and discussion among online users. The opinion expressed:
- Can't we stop making remakes of old anime? They generate conversation before they premiere, but once they start, they're largely ignored. Middle-aged people have a large social media presence, but they don't contribute financially. It is a mistake to think that these 'gentlemen' and 'ladies' have money, as many of them belong to the recession generation and have no resources.
- Instead of pandering to them, we should create new content for young people. And if adults can't keep up, let them fall behind and be eliminated. The economy will improve if we eliminate this "old blood." We should start excluding older adults from otaku content.

This opinion arose in the context of several remakes of classic anime that have been announced or aired recently, such as “Urusei Yatsura”, “Ranma 1/2” and “Rurouni Kenshin”These remakes tried to capture both new generations and old-school fans, but according to some users, they failed to maintain long-term interest.
And of course, it didn't take long for the community to debate about this:
- «Unlike gamers, anime otakus don't usually ask for remakes. Censorship often makes them boring.».
- «First of all, it's not that they failed miserably».
- «Remakes end up becoming outdated and don't attract new fans. Old fans get nostalgic and end up failing.».
- «In fact, there are few remakes that have been successful, why do they insist so much on making remakes?».
- «They were new and fun in their time.».
- «Those who ask to remake bad anime are not anime otakus, but fans of the original material.».
- «The Urusei Yatsura remake disappointed me because of the way Ataru treats Lum. I loved it as a kid, but now I can't stand it anymore.».
- «I'm not asking for a new Nausicaä, but how about a Laputa directed by Makoto Shinkai?».
- «Otakus aren't asking for this. The industry is desperate for ideas and is committing suicide with these remakes.».
- «I've never heard anyone ask for a remake of Rayearth.».
- «Those who want remakes imagine new versions with much higher quality than the original. But the reality is that remakes often have low budgets and mediocre crews. They should learn now.».
- «The Urusei Yatsura remake is visually appealing, but everything else is very outdated. I haven't seen much of Ranma, so maybe I'll like it.».
- «Instead of making new anime, they should rebroadcast the classics. I watched an old episode of Sazae-san the other day and it was really funny. But then the animators would be out of a job.».
- «It's been a long time since I've seen such stupid bait... It seems hard to live being so ignorant...»
