The author of the “Infinite Stratos” franchiseIzuru Yumizuru, generated concern among his followers after posting a series of disturbing messages on his official Twitter account. In these tweets, Yumizuru expressed his frustration and doubts about his writing career, suggesting that he might abandon his work altogether, including the completion of his popular work.
In one of his most shocking posts, Yumizuru wrote: «What am I living for? I don't quite understand", making his current emotional state clear. He also pointed to problems in his personal and professional life, alluding to a lack of support from his wife, who had apparently reprimanded him for working on manuscripts that didn't generate income. "My wife is upset. He says not to write things that don't make money. So what's the point of writing? It doesn't make sense. I'm going to abandon the new project; it won't make any money anyway.», he lamented in another tweet.

And he continued: «Effort is only recognized when it's converted into money; that's being a true realist. I feel really bad about this. What's fun? There's nothing fun in life anymore. I don't have the courage to die, so I'm in trouble. Money, money, money, it's so boring.».
The situation worries fans of the franchise, who have not received an update of the original work since the publication of Volume 12 of “Infinite Stratos” in April 2018, that is, more than six years of inactivity. Fans who were waiting for the continuation of the story fear that these statements are a sign that Volume 13, which was never released, may not see the light of day.
In this regard, the author wrote: «Volume 13 of 'Infinite Stratos' is always on my mind out of a sense of duty and responsibility, but the point is simple: it doesn't make any money, so I won't do it. The end. Conclusion? I don't care. If it doesn't make any money, I'm busy with other, more important things. How boring. Life is boring.».

Among fans' comments on social media, the uncertainty is palpable. It's like the end of the road for him“commented one user, while another noted:”I don't understand what he's doing. Why did you miss the opportunity to continue such a successful project?“. Some believe that “The pressure to achieve massive financial success with 'Infinite Stratos' affected his ability to continue working normally.“. Others even wonder if his relationship with his wife has financial overtones, given that Yumizuru has repeatedly mentioned his obsession with money in his tweets.
“Infinite Stratos,” which achieved notable success both in its light novel format and in its anime adaptation, managed to capture the public's attention during its peak, especially for its attractive character design and talented voice cast. However, the decline of Yumizuru's creative activity and his departure from the project left the franchise in a state of limbo.
Despite this, some followers still hold out hope that Yumizuru will be able to resume his work, although others consider that the time for “Infinite Stratos” has passed. “With With a little more humility, he could have continued to enjoy the fruits of his success, but it seems there is nothing left.", lamented one user. On the other hand, there are those who remember the strong impact the franchise had in its time, both in terms of figure sales and other derivative products. "The characters were designed to sell and they were successful.“said one fan, pointing out how the series’ visual elements played a crucial role in its success.
Meanwhile, uncertainty continues, with Yumizuru fans wondering if this will be the final ending to “Infinite Stratos.”a series that, despite its initial success, seems to have disappeared over time.
