Jujutsu Kaisen Says Goodbye to Hated Character

The “Sukuna Cycle” has become a meme in the “Sukuna” fandom.Jujutsu Kaisen”in light of the “Sinister Battle Arc in Shinjuku” in the manga. It all revolves around the fight between Sukuna and the Jujutsu Sorcerers and how the series creator, Gege Akutami, handled it. While the fight against Sukuna was packed with intense action and shocking moments, it also fell into a somewhat predictable cycle that fans criticized.

The "Sukuna Cycle" goes like this: Sukuna defeats a powerful enemy. A new, sometimes shadowy, sorcerer is then introduced and promoted in the narrative. Then, that new sorcerer seems to prevail over Sukuna, only for Sukuna to resurface and defeat him, forcing the cycle to repeat. However, with the leaks of the next chapter, these back and forth that lasted a year with the death of Ryomen Sukuna finally ended.

In Chapter 268, the confrontation between Sukuna and Yuji culminates in Sukuna's defeat. As Yuji's dominance crumbles, Sukuna frees himself from Megumi, and his reincarnation in Megumi's body comes to an end. Yuji, with a comforting message, tells Sukuna that, despite everything, he is willing to continue living with him and offer him a new opportunity.

Sukuna, enraged, rejects Yuji's offer and claims his identity as a curse. After Sukuna's defeat, Uraume, breaking down, expresses that the only logical reason for Sukuna's defeat is that he was in an incarnate body and that the group was lucky to have been born a thousand years too late.

The scene shifts to Megumi waking up to find Yuji and Nobara trying to surprise him. Nobara reveals that her letter from Gojo contained information about her mother that she would rather not know. Megumi laughs as she reads Gojo's letter, which informs her that her father was killed by Gojo himself.

Finally, Nobara suggests a meeting with Maki and the others, and Yuji mentions the need to apologize and thank everyone, especially Yuta. Upon arriving at the location, the group comes across a scene in which someone screams in frustration at Yuta's fate, leaving Megumi confused and worried about the nature of the situation.

This development in which the main trio managed to survive began to create a division among fans, with some pointing out that "it's a Disney-style ending where everything works out fine," and others defending it. What do you have to say about this?
