That's why new figures are constantly being put on sale, but the one that was released a few days ago was surprising for several reasons, firstly because it shows Luffy in his "waifu" version and secondly because this design is original to Eiichiro Odathe mangaka who created the entire One Piece universe.

A few days ago One piece celebrated a new anniversary of the manga, more precisely the 27th, and as part of this a special publication from the official account of the manga was shared. Twitter/X belonging to the franchise Eiichiro Oda where we are shown the protagonist Monkey d Luffy. But what surprised many is that it is a new special figure, which shows us Luffy in his female version, which is also an original drawing by Oda himself, accompanied in turn by another figure of the young man in another of the drawings made by the mangaka.
As you can see in the image, this “waifu” version of Luffy adds different pieces of clothing that also keep the name of the series' protagonist. One piece, and most notably, the red, blue, and yellow color palette is still present. Although since the gender swap, some changes have had to be made to the clothing, such as the original jeans now being much shorter, or Luffy's open shirt now becoming a sleeveless shirt closed in the center to avoid being too visible.

In addition to this “waifu” version, which was the one that made fans fall in love One piecenext to it you can get another one where we see Luffy with its original style, although with some changes in its original facial features, in turn. The first, in "waifu" mode, can be seen in one of the special editions where the mangaka answered fan questions known as SBS, in this case the one from volume 56 of the manga, while the second is one of the many versions used by Oda throughout this SBS.
Both figures will be part of the collection called “One Piece World Collectible Figures"which can be purchased through Weekly Shonen Jump, and all the details for purchasing it can be found in the latest issue of this issue. Therefore, the price has not yet been announced when this week's issue of the magazine is released. Finally, it is not known whether the figures will be available in specialized stores in the future, so we will have to wait for some special confirmation from Weekly Shonen Jump for these incredible collectibles to reach a much wider audience.
