Malaysia Announces Nighttime Transformers 'Race for Cybertron' Event

THE Transformers The franchise has inspired numerous iterations and forms over the years, from toys, movies, and comics to cartoons and video games. Now, the series is inspiring real-life fans to “transform and launch” on their own.
Dubbed the "Race for Cybertron," a new event in Malaysia demonstrates the duration of... Transformers Fan club. Challenging flesh-and-blood creatures to test their lack of metal in an endurance race, the event features various prizes and titles tied to the disguised robots. It also takes place as Transformers celebrates its 40th anniversary, showing that the strength of the franchise is, in fact, a long-distance race.

The newest Transformers event is a race in Malaysia
Taking place on October 19, 2024, in Putrajaya, Malaysia, the Transformers The Night Run 2024 “Race for Cybertron” event will be a sophisticated test of footwork. The event will take place starting at 5 PM (local time), and participants in the sporting events will be able to choose between representing the Autobots or the Decepticons. This includes receiving race kits with the faction symbols of either alliance. Other items include themed bibs and medals for completing the race, designed to resemble Optimus Prime or Megatron.
There will be four different race classes based on the participants' age. The Kids Dash (4 to 7 years old) is 800 meters, while the Kids Dash (8 to 12 years old) is 1,200 meters. The Fun Race (13 years and older) is 5 km, while the Competitive Race (16 years and older) is a full 10 km race. Needless to say, there will be plenty of fun to be had. Transformers Fans of all ages and backgrounds are welcome, with aspiring robots in Malaysia sure to prove in October that running is a right for all sentient beings. Tickets are already on sale, with the most expensive (for the competitive race) costing 85 Malaysian Ringgit (~US$18). Frugal athletes will therefore need only a little money, some energon, and a lot of luck.
