Almost a month has passed since the start of the season. Summer 2024 (July to September)and according to the records of My anime list, we can now see which animes are the most "dropped" so far. With about four episodes aired for each series, we're right at the point where the popular "3-episode rule" comes into play. This rule indicates that many fans often decide whether to continue watching a series based on whether the first few episodes convince them.

There are several factors that can lead someone to decide not to finish watching a series:

• Plot development: If the story doesn't engage the viewer or is considered slow and boring, many will likely abandon it.
• Animation quality: Poor or inconsistent animation can be a major turnoff. Anime fans often have high expectations when it comes to visual quality.
• Characters: If the characters are not charismatic, interesting, or well-developed, it is easy for viewers to lose interest.
• Previous expectations: Expectations generated before the premiere can play a significant role. If an anime doesn't live up to the expectations created by the promotional material or the manga/light novel it's based on, it can be quickly abandoned.
• Season Competition: In a season with many interesting premieres, viewers can prioritize the series they consider most promising and abandon those that don't seem as appealing.

It is important to remember that Numbers alone do not define the quality of a series, but they only present a trend regarding which series were most abandoned. Ultimately, tastes are subjective, and what some dislike, others may love. The diversity of tastes is what makes the world of anime so rich and varied.
