How it works

While this move may seem powerful at first glance due to Chiaotzu having gathered enough energy to sacrifice himself to use it, it was so weak that Nappa took virtually no damage from it. How it works

Although its name might suggest it, the Spirit Ball doesn't work the same way as Goku's Spirit Bomb. By turning his left palm upward, Yamcha gathers his energy and fires it into a ball of Ki that he can control quite skillfully. After firing, he can control its trajectory with his fingers, allowing him to hit opponents multiple times.

Move well, study well, play well, eat well, and rest well. That's the Master Turtle way!

How it works

The Kamehameha is the most iconic move not only Dragon Ball But it's all anime. It was created by Master Roshi, and he has a version of this attack that only he can use. While slow, the Max Power Kamehameha is incredibly powerful, as it requires the attack to be in its fully powered form and requires a longer charge time.

Tien's Neo Tri-Beam

Tri-Beam de Tien em Dragon Ball Super

First appearance

Dragon Ball ZEpisode 152, “Say Goodbye, 17”

Story arc

Android Saga

Tien is a man who has dedicated his entire life to martial arts and is one of the few characters in the series who has never stopped training since his introduction. Tien has wielded some powerful moves throughout the story, but none more deadly than his Neo Tri-Beam.

His attack was like a spring breeze, it had absolutely no effect.

How it works

The Tri-Beam begins with Tien bringing the fingertips of each hand together, creating a hollow space between his palms. Energy is then condensed here, which Tien then fires in gigantic square-shaped Ki blasts that are powerful enough to incapacitate Cell, absorbed by Android 17. However, this attack drains Tien's energy, nearly killing him if used repeatedly.

Krillin's Destroyed Disc

Kuririn usando o disco destruído 2

First appearance

Dragon Ball ZEpisode 21, “Nimbus Speed”

Story arc

Saiyan Saga

Because Krillin also grew up and trained at the Turtle Hermit School like Goku, he was also quite proficient in its techniques, such as the Kamehameha. However, he would later become an incredible fighter in his own right, developing many powerful moves that made him the strongest human in the series, chief among them the Destructo Disc.

But if I don't try, there will be no one left to protect my friends!

How it works

By raising an open-handed arm to the sky, Krillin summons his Ki and condenses it into an extremely flat, sharp disc that spins very quickly. This powerful attack remains extremely deadly in this franchise, as its cutting power is so formidable that even Goku has been seen using it on occasion.

Android 18's Infinite Bullet

Recurso de bala infinita

First appearance

Dragon Ball ZEpisode 194, “Free the Future”

Story arc

Mobile game saga

Android 18 debuted in the franchise as a powerful killing machine hell-bent on destroying Goku and the world. However, she underwent significant character development and eventually became a key member of the Z Fighters.

How it works

Does Dragon Ball rely heavily on new transformations?

One of the series' most iconic facets has now outgrown its identity. But is there a path beyond the new Super Saiyan forms or godlike states?

Goten and Trunks' versions of their father's attacks

DBS Goten Trunks na floresta

Goten and Trunks are the sons of the series' deuteragonists, Goku and Vegeta. While they certainly have the potential to be formidable fighters, their true strength is realized when they fuse with Gotenks, which they seem to do quite a bit. However, each of them has their own powerful moves.

Now I'm going to embarrass you, Goten!

How they work

Unlike the other Z-Fighters, their most powerful moves aren't ones they created on their own. Goten's is his version of the Super Kamehameha, which he learned from his father, while Trunks has the Big Tree Canon, a weaker version of Vegeta's Final Flash. Like Gotenks, however, they have a unique moveset unlike any other character in the series.

Majin Buu's rage explosion

força de salto majin buu

First appearance

Dragon Ball ZEpisode 236, “The Warrior’s Decision”

Story arc

Majin Buu Saga

Majin Buu was originally introduced in the series as a monstrous villain who wanted nothing more than the destruction of everything. However, due to the influence of the Grand Supreme Kai, Buu gained a "good" side that eventually led him to aid the heroes as part of the Z-Fighters. Before that, however, he fought Vegeta and used his powerful Rage Blast Attack.

If you provoke Mr. Satan, Buu will punish you!

How it works

Buu's Fury Blast is a devastating attack that gathers a ton of energy around the villain, which he then fires in a massive explosion around him, covering a very wide radius. This move was so powerful that it left Vegeta severely damaged. However, he hasn't used this move since due to its power, potentially harming his allies as well.

Piccolo and Gohan's Special Beam Canon

Por que Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero precisa de Beast Gohan e Orange Piccolo no lançamento

First appearance

Dragon Ball ZEpisode 4, “Piccolo’s Plan”

Story arc

Saiyan Saga

The Special Beam Canon remains, to this day, one of the most powerful moves of all time. Dragon Ball due to its incredible penetrating power. The move was first used and created by Piccolo when he unleashed its power against Raditz and has been seen a few times since, most recently in the hands of Beast Gohan, who used it on Cell Max. The concentrated penetrating power of the Special Beam Canon has rarely been seen elsewhere in the franchise.

You will laugh at your fears when you discover who you are.

How it works

As powerful as this move is, there is a drawback to executing it. To gather enough energy to achieve unstoppable power, the Special Beam Canon requires a very long charge time to be fully effective. The user assumes the stance and places two fingers on their forehead, followed by a very long charge to gather and concentrate the energy. Therefore, it is believed that others must be present on the battlefield to distract the enemy for the attack to be used in its strongest form.

Vegeta's final explosion

Majin Vegeta

First appearance

Dragon Ball ZEpisode 237, “Final Atonement”

Story arc

Majin Buu Saga

Vegeta has one of the most varied and powerful movesets in the entire series, and most of these attacks are powerful enough to destroy entire planets. However, his two most powerful moves, the Final Flash and the Final Explosion, are truly in a league of their own, and the debate between the two could honestly go either way. However, the latter's properties make it the more dangerous choice here.

Strength is the only thing that matters in this world!

How it works

By gathering all his life energy within himself, Vegeta unleashes an incredibly powerful blast, similar to Buu's Rage Blast, which destroys everything it comes into contact with. However, the downside here is that it can also kill or severely weaken the user, and the only reason Buu survived was due to his cellular regeneration. Vegeta used this attack again in the Tournament of Power to eliminate Toppo, but this time it didn't kill him.

Goku's Spirit Bomb

bomba espiritual-dbz

First appearance

Dragon Ball ZEpisode 15, “Countdown”

Story arc

Saiyan Saga

Like Vegeta, Goku's repertoire is full of attacks so deadly that each one can cause untold devastation. While the Kamehameha, and its many variants, remain his most iconic move, the Spirit Bomb has to hold its own in terms of lethality, despite failing to work some of the times it was used. What makes this attack so terrifying is the fact that it's not just Goku's energy that powers it, but that of many living beings!

Share your energy with me!

How it works

Raising his hands to the sky, Goku calls upon the energy of living beings. The amount of energy he receives is directly proportional to the size and strength of the Spirit Bomb, with the largest and most powerful version being the one used against Kid Buu, which destroyed all his cells and prevented his regeneration. However, like the Special Beam Canon, the attack requires a lot of charge, so another fighter is almost needed to distract the enemy.
