In an exciting update, it was revealed that Shun Umezawa's character The Darwin Incident The manga will receive an anime adaptation. The news was confirmed on the cover of the next issue of Tarde Mensal No. 7/2024.

The Darwin Incident is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shun Umezawa. It has been serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Monthly Afternoon since June 2020.

In 2022, The Darwin Incident won the 15th Manga Taishō, as well as the Excellence Award at the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival. The manga also received the 17th French ACBD Award “Asie de la Critique” in 2023.

The Animal Liberation Alliance, an eco-terrorist organization, rescues a pregnant chimpanzee from an animal testing lab—only for her to give birth to a half-human, half-chimpanzee named Charlie! Fifteen years later, Charlie's adoptive human parents are finally ready to send him to a normal school, where he makes his first friend: a human girl named Lucy.
