Highlights
- Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the Boruto manga after a long hiatus, as there is no anime to fill the content gap.
- The next chapter will show new character designs, especially the timeskip versions, which depict the characters' growth.
- The plot will focus on Code's quest to become a god, his revenge against Kawaki, and the potential conflict between Boruto and Sasuke when they return stronger after four years of training.
Boruto Chapter 81 is coming soon, and fans are already very excited for the manga's return. The manga has been on hiatus for a few months, and fans are hungry for content, especially since there's no anime either.
The only glimpse fans have gotten into the Narutoverse recently was through the Minato one-shot that Kishimoto recently released.
Fortunately, however, the wait is almost over now, and this month, fans will finally get their fill of Boruto, as the young Uzumaki is ready to return and make waves once again. All eyes are currently on Boruto Chapter 81, and fans can't wait.
New designs for fans to see
The previous chapter of Boruto focused heavily on the timeskip that would follow. Fans knew there would be a timeskip in Boruto from the beginning of the story.
This is because the manga's prologue itself featured an older version of Boruto Uzumaki fighting Kawaki atop the Hokage's faces.
Furthermore, the entirety of Konoha seemed to have been destroyed around them. Fans immediately began to form their theories about what could have happened and how, as well as the fate of the 7th Hokage.
Now that the story has almost reached this point, fans know that Naruto Uzumaki is sealed in another dimension, while Sasuke Uchiha and Boruto will try to rescue him after years and years of training.
Most importantly, fans will also see new designs for these characters. New designs, especially from timeskips, often showcase character growth while also being exciting for fans to look at.
In the case of Boruto Uzumaki, fans have already seen what he'll look like thanks to the series' prologue. At the same time, Kawaki's design was also released.
Additionally, fans have also seen some illustrations of these two characters in their timeskip designs.
More recently, Boruto also gave fans a glimpse of Sarada Uchiha's timeskip design, thanks to the promotion for the upcoming Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. At the same time, there are many other character designs that fans are very interested in seeing, and they include ninjas from both the new and old generations.
Chapter 81 will certainly reveal all the amazing designs to fans, however, at the same time, it will also give fans a glimpse of the major plot developments, and certainly one that is at the center of the series is Code's storyline.
Code is on a mission to fulfill Isshiki's will and become a god like Shibai Otsutsuki. Code wants to fulfill the Otsutsuki's will and also has a personal vendetta against Kawaki.
He wants to destroy Konoha completely, however, it wasn't the right time for him to do so before the timeskip.
After these four years, fans will likely get a glimpse of how strong he's become. Perhaps Code has moved from planet to planet in an attempt to strengthen himself.
Whether he consumed a lot of chakra fruits as he was told or not is something fans can very well see in Boruto chapter 81.
At the same time, fans also got to see a bit about Kawaki, who, while not really a villain, will have an antagonistic role in Boruto moving forward.
Kawaki took Boruto's life from him and is trying to kill him. Like Boruto, he will also have grown tremendously strong. Fans will definitely get a glimpse of him in the next chapter, as he reveals his life as the 7th Hokage's son—a life he stole from Boruto Uzumaki.
The return of Boruto and Sasuke?
Of course, with any series' return from a timeskip comes more focus on the protagonist. When Naruto Uzumaki returned from the timeskip, he was central to the first chapter, and the same would be true here.
Boruto Uzumaki is the protagonist of the series, after all, and the time has come for him to show how much he has grown and what skills he has learned. THE Chapter 81 will focus on Boruto and Sasuke's return in some shape or form.
For four years, these two characters have been training to become stronger and face the challenges that lie ahead to achieve their goals. Naruto Uzumaki is still a prisoner, while Kawaki remains a threat.
To solve these problems, they had to get stronger and it will be interesting to see in Boruto chapter 81 what they achieved.
Whether or not these two will return to Konoha is unknown to fans at this time. Boruto likely won't be able to return to Konoha because he's seen as a villain.
However, Sasuke potentially could. Then again, at this point, Sasuke could very well be seen as a villain to the village, since he protected the man who killed the Seventh Hokage.
Where Boruto and Sasuke go from here is a question fans are wondering about, and only Boruto Chapter 81 can answer. All of this only adds to the intrigue fans have for the next chapter, and of course, fans are eagerly awaiting how the story unfolds.
A glimpse of Naruto and Hinata
While not a guarantee, Boruto Chapter 81 may also give fans a glimpse of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga. Fans know that these two characters were sealed by Kawaki at the end of the first part of Boruto.
He did it because he knew they would interfere in the process of killing Boruto Uzumaki. Kawaki wants to kill Boruto because he is technically an Otsutsuki.
He's made it his goal to eradicate and eliminate all these alien parasites simply because they pose a threat to Naruto and the village he built. While he comes from a good place, his actions are clearly wrong.
In Boruto Chapter 81, Naruto and Hinata would be sealed for 4 years, however, they would not have aged a single day, since in the Daikokuten dimension, time simply does not flow.
If fans are lucky, they will get a glimpse of Naruto and Hinata in Boruto Chapter 81. Perhaps the writers can even set up a good storyline for these two characters within the dimension, since Naruto isn't a weakling and can somehow break free. Otherwise, fans would still expect to see them in the chapter, at least.
The Boruto sequel is now titled Boruto: Two Blue Vortex and will be released later this month. Fans expect the chapter to release on August 20, 2023.
