A press release reported that the manga written and illustrated by To take“Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! (Uzaki-chan wants to go out!)”, will not have a new chapter this month and will be suspended indefinitely due to the worsening of the author’s health. According to the statement, author Take was diagnosed with COVID-19 last month.

In turn, the author highlighted that he continues to suffer after-effects after contracting the disease and added that, although he has recovered physically, he does not have the energy to draw. Take further explained that although he continues to draw every day, his illustrations are “weak” and he is very anxious and worried about when he will be able to draw manga like before. Take says he doesn't think he can continue drawing manga at the current pace.

In turn, Take began publishing the manga through the service Dr. Dr. Sharp of Niconico Seiga since December 2017, while the publisher Fujimi Shobo has been publishing its compilation volumes. The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios ENGI and released in Summer 2020 (July-September)followed by a second season released in Fall 2022 (October to December).

Synopsis for Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!

At the beginning of her freshman year, Hana Uzaki meets Shinichi Sakurai, a senior who was in the same club as her during high school. However, to her surprise, the once-active senior has turned out to be a "loner" who prefers to spend his free time in peace and quiet. Uzaki does everything she can to keep Sakurai from being "lonely," from persuading him to go to the movies to his part-time job.

Although Sakurai finds her annoying and boring, he still follows Uzaki's antics, even though he knows her cheerful personality will only lead them into more comical situations. Even so, as the days go by, their relationship only improves, to the point where people around them misinterpret them as a couple. Either way, whenever Uzaki wants to hang out with his older brother, there's bound to be plenty of fun and adorableness!
