TOHO, known for its rich history of producing classics such as the original \u201cGodzilla\u201d film, \u201cRingu\u201d and anime such as \u201cInuyasha\u201d and \u201cSpirited Away\u201d in collaboration with Studio Ghibli, <strong>It thus seeks to expand its production capacity and diversification in the anime market.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"http:\/\/animangeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/106\/2024\/05\/O-popular-estudo-Science-SARU-foi-vendido.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-330123\"  \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>According to TOHO&#039;s statement, the acquisition will become effective on June 19, and Science SARU will become a consolidated subsidiary starting in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2025.<\/strong> Science SARU, founded in 2013 by director Masaaki Yuasa and animator Eunyoung Choi, has been recognized for its innovative approach and unique style in animation. Among its most notable works are \u201c<strong>Keep your hands off the Eizouken!<\/strong>\u201c, the anime series of\u201c<strong>Scott Pilgrim<\/strong>\u201c, the cult film\u201c<strong>The night is short, come on girl<\/strong>\u201c, and the upcoming anime adaptation of\u201c<strong>Dandadan<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Science SARU has won important awards and recognition over the years. Yuasa&#039;s film, &quot;<strong>Lu beyond the wall<\/strong>\u201c, won the Grand Prix for Animation at the Japan Arts Festival Awards and the \u201cCrystal\u201d award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Another notable work, \u201c<strong>INU-OH<\/strong>\u201c, was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The acquisition of an animation studio by a large company like TOHO can have several significant effects, both positive and negative.<\/strong> Financially, the acquisition promises to strengthen TOHO&#039;s production capabilities, allowing it to produce more high-quality content more frequently. <strong>This could translate into greater investments in animation technology, infrastructure and talent, which will benefit Science SARU and enhance its growth.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>However, one of the industry&#039;s biggest fears is the possible loss of creative freedom of the acquired studio. <\/strong>Science SARU is known for its distinctive style and ability to take creative risks.
