{"id":13170,"date":"2024-06-13T13:26:05","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T16:26:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/animangeek.com\/a-pirataria-esta-ok-por-enquanto-diz-a-editora\/"},"modified":"2024-06-13T13:26:05","modified_gmt":"2024-06-13T16:26:05","slug":"a-pirataria-esta-ok-por-enquanto-diz-a-editora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/animangeek.com\/en_gb\/a-pirataria-esta-ok-por-enquanto-diz-a-editora\/","title":{"rendered":"Piracy is OK for now,\u201d says publisher"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mx-5 sm:mx-0 prose text-left mb-5\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Akira Kanai<\/strong>editor of the successful manga \u201c<strong>Vinland Saga<\/strong>\u201crecently shared his thoughts on the importance of global exchange in the manga industry and the piracy controversy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/animangeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/A-pirataria-esta-OK-por-enquanto-diz-a-editora.jpg\" alt=\"Pirataria\" class=\"wp-image-298585\"  \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Kanai considers global exchange fundamental to the manga medium. <\/strong>While management at Kodansha, the publisher behind &quot;Vinland Saga,&quot; believes Japan&#039;s declining child population and shrinking domestic market are sufficient reasons for international expansion, Kanai doesn&#039;t entirely agree.<em><strong>I think it&#039;s shameful to expand abroad just because the domestic market is shrinking.<\/strong><\/em>\u201c, commented Kanai. \u201c<em><strong>It&#039;s the same all over the world; the birth rate is declining overall, except in Africa and India.<\/strong><\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to advances in digital technology, Kanai acknowledges that it is now much easier for people around the world to access Japanese manga.<em><strong>I&#039;m glad that people who find Japanese manga interesting are contacting us more and more, and that fans are reading them whether they live in Brazil, Antarctica, Tibet, or Kenya.<\/strong><\/em>he said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding piracy, Kanai admits to a somewhat controversial position. \u201c<em><strong>It would be great if they not only read illegal pirated copies but also paid a little for them. But if they don&#039;t have the money and there are plenty of pirated copies, I think piracy is fine for now\u2014I could get killed by a council member for saying that now.<\/strong><\/em>,\u201d joked Kanai. \u201c<em><strong>First, it&#039;s important to read the manga<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d Kanai believes that only when manga is accessible is it possible for authors from other countries to submit their works to Japanese publishers, promoting a broader cultural and creative exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Kanai concludes that expansion into overseas markets should not be based solely on the shrinking Japanese market, but on the desire to share and enjoy manga in a global community.<em><strong>The idea that Japanese publishers will be poorer if they don&#039;t expand overseas is pathetic and should be abandoned.
